Recent Happenings

I guess it's been AWHILE I last updated this blog. Was busy with my exam, finding job and also my laptop was down for a few days. Finally now all these are over. My exam has just finish. Now crossing my fingers that I score high enough to get some distinctions. And I've gotten a new job. I will be started working on 6 Nov at Science Park. That is like coming tuesday! Gosh! Didn't even get enough time to rest after exam. Well.. anyway.. no choice I guess. And my aunty is here in singapore for a visit. She's really fussy about the food la... haiz.. Everyday scratching my head thinking what she would be eating..Anyway, it's a good thing that I get to meet up with her for awhile in singapore. Must treasure the re-union time.

Alot of happenings -NO TIME

Alot of happenings these days. I think I've not blog for about a month. I really do not wish to blog certain things also. That's why my blog is inactive for a period of time. The situation in my country is bad. But I guess I am not gonna talk muc about it.

I had quit the job. And I think quite lucky enough I managed to secure another job very first. But I am not gonna start committing my new job any time soon. I would start by 3rd Nov.

Now I am busy studying for my exam. This has to put the first priority for now and I promised myself I really have to do a good and proper job for this. Just after my exam I am gonna start working again.

My Aunty gonna come over to Singapore by 30th October. This is not bad definately. In this kind of situation in my country, I think it's good that she comes out here. Well, at least I would have someone to talk to for a period of time as well. Which is not a bad thing I suppose. =)

Not action pack but satisfying weekend =)

I've been very busy these days. Didn't even get to blog regularly. Busy with work and school as usual. And work is driving me crazy actually. Anyway, I've "not so bad" weekend. And also much thanks to my friend Raja.

Yesterday after my class at SIM, I went down to vivo city. Actually I ask Raja to help me pick up the Halo 3 promotional item which I get it by answering some dump multiple choice from xbox website. I would say the cap is quite not bad. It's green color military cap with the Halo 3 logo on it. And it looks pretty cool IMO. And I manage to buy a box of moon cake from Raffle the plaza. I would say the moon cake is really nice. And must thanks Raja for queing for the freebies for me at Halo event.

And today, I didn't get to study much. But I get to do a bit of alot of things. Morning went for gym. Afternoon I manage to restore back some energy by a couple of short nap. Manage to study a bit. And I manage to jog pretty much furthur than usual with Raja. And also get to play my favorite new game "Bioshock". It's not much of a happening week or relaxing week. But I manage to do a bit of alot of things which I think is quite satisfying.

Tomorrow is Monday again.... shittttttt...

Seems like I always see the future of technology?

Wow.. past 6 months I've been talking about creating a device which you can download the music directly to it through the internet connection and now Apple has come out with ipod touch which is 70% similar to my ideas.

Haiz.. In fact I've even bigger vision over the internet enabled music device. I've been talking about some possible advantages about it to quite a few of my friends.

The other time I talk about the possibility of color phones and technical divergence between PDA and phone and mp3 player in polytechnic most of my friends thought it wouldn't have possible. But now there's such devices in market.

And also I've been talking about using web services to deliver the online base application rather than software delivered in cd. I believe it will happen soon also. Just wait and see about it.

I got Higher Distinction for my Commercial Law subject and I failed the Statistics.

Don't know what to say....

Lucky stastistic exam is actually voluntary exam and not that important. Commercial Law test is more important and I manage to score high. Anyway, this clearly show that I must work much harder for my law final exam to really get higher distinction and I also must work doubly harder to get good grades for my statistics.

Hope I can do equally well for both subject.

Ratatouille

What a great show! Me and my friend Raja were really enjoying the show. Really makes me feel at least this weekend is relax and entertaining. I like the sound effects and voice acting in the show. And story line is great. It is rather long for a cartoon but we both agreed that it is really entertaining. I give 4 out of 5 stars for this show.

And after that we went down to Comex IT show to just take a look. The HDTVs are really quite cheap now. Time to get 1 for myself quite soon.

And I get to witness someone get arrested. HA HA HA HA HA.

Actually Raja was trying out this controlling spaceship using the hand gesture in front of the camera. It is some sort of movement recognition thing at the science exhabition.

Overdrive?

These days I've been very busy. The logistics and law subjects are getting harder after the mid term and the teachers are really rushing through to finish up. I think part time lectures are really super rushing. Now I am a little lost with my logistic already. And the lecturers never do any law questions together in school. If I wish to know whether my answer would be correct in the exam or not, I will have to do some tutorial problems on my own and have to submit it to the lecturer through email to ask him for the opinion. Well... I don't even really have much time to read through the topics from the book for now.

And I am also busy looking for a new job. I wanted to earn around 2.5k if possible. These days I am either busy with work, study or trying to do some job hunts. And also have to give some time to exercise as well. I am feeling a bit overdrive. Sometimes I think when alot of things going on life is a little hard to balance. It's hard to excel at every area. Now I really have to adjust my time for study and my exercise regime. I don't even have the time to play game or really rest except sleeping time...

Fireworks at NDP 2007

Yesterday I went down to esplanade to watch the fireworks together with my friend Thant Zin Win after my law test paper. Rather happy with my test though. I did quite well. If I don't flaunt my final exam I am pretty likely to get the Higher Distinction on this 1 liao. Sheralyn managed to get the seat at NDP seatings. She won lucky draw from her company. Lucky girl. After that I meet up with Sheralyn for awhile for supper. We wanted to watch a show after that. But the movie timing was not right. Ended up we went back home after the supper. Somehow quite an eventful day though. =)

A moment to unwind

I've been very busy with school and work for quite a few weeks. Last sunday me and my two high school friends went out for a cycling at east coast and after that went down to orchard for a shopping and dinner. Really tiring cycling and walking the whole day. But at least I feel a little bit relax.

Tension sort of building up a little since the exam is drawing near. This really helps me unwind. =)

Tiring week

Feeling very tired this whole weel. Work and study is really not that easy. Anyway, a couple of things has accomplished this week. Vicki help me mod my PSP. Thanks a lot Vicki! Now I can play virtually almost every psp game w/t paying a single cent. The only problem is do I have the time to play? lol. Well..

Although today is Saturday, I practically didn't get a little bit of rest. I went down to ICA early in the morning to settle the Application for Citizenship. Finally I get to go down and apply for it. And I ALMOST lost my passport. The photocopying que there was mad. The crowd is really pushing each other to get their photocopy done. I don't want to create alot of hassle, so I try to keep my documents faster and leave the photocopy area. And I realize that I forget to bring my passport. I ran back to the place and lucky enough I manage to get it back. Phewwww...

And after that my Saturday class at SIM from 2-5pm. Then I went out to jog for about 6pm and by 7pm I am already pretty much K.O. And I try to switch off my room lights to take a short nap. But the neighborhood community seems to celebrate some sort of national day celebration. The noises from there woke me up. Haiz..

Now I am trying to gather some energies to study for awhile for my Commercial Law subject. Feeling really shag.

Time for a switch

I've been having this thought of switching to a new job for good. Since the job market seems to get better now and I've certain level of experience in programming, I think now I should start to aim for higher pay. Hope I can get a job which is around 2.5k and above. I need more money. If not whatever I earn is not enough for me to do any savings. =(

Today is my first day of learning Commercial Law. Remind me of what my teacher quotes

Well, in fact I am aiming for graduating my degree with Higher Distinction. So I guess I will try to manage my time properly and works towards it.

My law lecturer is quite good. She pay attention to details and her english is very very clear. No strong Australian ascent.. which is good for me.

I guess I will have to buy my prescribe text book tomorrow. Lecturer kept mention a lot of pages in the text book and now I have nothing to refer to yet.

I've been quite disciplined with my own determinations anyway. I spend my Sunday just reading up and revising most of my statistics lecture notes and sourcing out more details explanation on the topic over the net. Now at least I can say I understand certain part I've covered a few days ago.

Hope I do well.. And I will..

Wah lau. I damn suay lo. Now i am the centre of the hatred of office people for apparently spreading the chicken pox to them. 2 colleagues MC with pox liao. And my supervisor is pretty much panic of a few spots he saw on his body. He showed to me and it does looks like he also starting his pox symptoms. Wah lau! What worst is he's really seems to be pretty furious over this. Aiyohhhh...

First Few Lectures in Uni

Well. Today is my second lecture in SIM. I'm learning statistics for this week and the next will be on Law. Although it might sounds boring. (Yeah, I guess it does), so far I am pretty much ok with the lessons. And the statistics actually explains more about background information rather than just being busy with all the business formulae. It's a little bit tired after the lectures though. I need to sleep pretty much early so that I can reach to work the next day by 8:30. So far still ok. Jia you to myself. =)

This weekend never really get to go out for any entertainment. Just try to focus on some exercises. Yesterday was jogging and today was training at gym. The week ahead is going to be hectic.

Starting from Monday I will have my part time starting. It is 7pm-10pm at SIM. And it's going to be 4 consecutive days for this week, studying Business Statistic. I am kinda excited but also feeling a bit tiring about part time study. Well, my ideal intention is to study full time but now, I have to make do with the part time. I don't wish to study full time for a private university. If I were to get a degree in NUS or NTU studying full time is not a big concern. Well, anyway.. at least this will also make my working experience keep growing. So it's not a very bad thing.

I'm started to fill up my citizenship form and gathering necessary documents to apply for Singapore citizenship. Finally, I've came to decide for it. I will apply it next week.

Today I went down to Tiong Bahru to help out my friend Han to buy a LCD monitor. Poor thing. She spilled the water on the laptop and she went on to dismentle the laptop to dry the water. But in the end broke a transitor and the LCD monitor can't display a thing. Hope everything is ok later on with her sister's laptop in Shanghai.

Well, don't let this accident affect your mood for Shanghai trip. K? =)

As for myself, I really have to jia you myself for a few upcoming years. Being a Singapore Citizen here without any relatives and family might be a little tough as well I guess. Jia you!

My uncle's back!

Finally get a phone call from my uncle yesterday morning from Myanmar. Didn't hear anything from him ever since he goes oversea and was worried for awhile of how's he has been. Finally he's back. Yay!

Farewell Lunch

Today I meet up with Han for farewell lunch. Intended to treat her something before she goes to Shanghai for six months. And the meet up was delayed by a few days because of my chicken pox. Finally today get to meet up with her. And also manage to get her a Polo Ralph Lauren Romance Perfume as a gift for her trip.

Finally, a great day going out. I've been sick and staying at home everyday over the past two weeks. And I also manage to catch the Transformers with Bala.

I am feeling sick today. Kept sleeping whole day and my whole head was feeling heavy and giddy. Hope I can recover by tomorrow.

Fantastic 4: Silver Surfer

Watch fantastic 4: silver surfer tonight. It is a nice show. Although there's not much of a strong storyline it is an entertaining show and I enjoyed watching it. Not feeling very well today actually. I don't think I have the fever. But feeling very giddy. Haiz.. Think too much gaming and very little sleep liao. Sian..Should cut down on some of these nonsense liao.

Dilemma and Decision

I've been in this dilemma about my school choice for part time degree a few weeks. Go to RMIT which I manage to register for this July intake, OR go to UOL which I can only go in six months later but more prestigous. Time and quality of the certificate is the two main factor of my dilemma. And I would like to say thanks to quite a few friends who find information for me and chip in thoughts. Sheralyn, Raja and Han. Now I decided to wait for six more months and go for UOL, since UOL is much more famous university. Hope I made a right decision. Anyway, I still need to think of a few little criteria over whether I really make this a final decision.

I really don't want to be an IT guy

I really don't want to be an IT guy. I hate to write programming and troubleshooting problems. But at least I don't really mind troubleshooting my own software. At least I know what I am doing. I hate to troubleshoot other people PC breaks down or some abnormal hardware problem.

Just because I am a IT guy doesn't mean I know what's happening when microsoft got hardware problem and program exit because of the error code 0xcceff1. Even if you go to the stupid MSDN website and look up the error code they vaguely say it could be due to the possible reasons(And imagine the endless reasons they list there). When we troubleshoot the pc and when everything is ok, we only get "ok thanks" from the user. But when things really go wrong and the pc really can't be troubleshoot we got endless nagging. Why Ko Ko? Why cannot? What exactly went wrong? Is that a virus? Or did you do something wrong? Why the error message is like that? Why the system so slow? Why there's this blank screen?

Hell.. I wish I know all the answer also. When the data is lost, it's as if my fault. I can't possibly rescue all the data from a totally corrupted hard disk. I am sick of all these.

Sometimes backing up important data and so on is also the responsibility of the users. We cannot possibly rescue a DOOMed computer. We are no superman too.

And I also don't like friends and people see me as an IT guy and every small little IT problem come and ask me. I need a break some time also. Yeah? Don't call me in the middle of the night around 2 am and come and ask me why network card controller can't be found? It's not like I digest the whole of my computer knowledge inside my brain. When Microsoft Clip Art cannot be insert into Microsoft word, I would be appreciate if you find out a work around or call Microsoft instead. Don't come and ask me why cannot insert the clip art? Hell I know.

I really don't mind helping out people. But when things are unreasonable sometimes I fed up. When you got a computer problem in the middle of the night, don't suddenly remember me and call me at the time like 2 am, 3 am. I am not 24/7 IT techinician. Some friends are really ironic. They can don't bother to contact me once in 5 or 10 years. But when the stupid computer spoiled in the middle of the night they remember me? Who am I to them? If you guys want to remember me as a friend and need help at times I am happy with it. I am glad to help. But only remember me whenever got IT problem and thinking as if like I am obliged to solve it overnight. Please fuck off. I can't be bothered.

Man!!! I hate to be an IT guy. Really. Don't remember me this way.

Now I'm currently enjoying my stay in Bt Batok. My new room is quite neat and tidy and the landlord are not very naggy. And I find it very convenient to go to those places I use to go orchard, bishan, clementi, common wealth etc etc.

And moreover, now I can hang out late night with my friends and share cab back together since my close friends are mostly staying in west area. And I can jog together with Raja most time since he's staying in Jurong East.

Something gotta give though. I find that there's no good running track around Bt Batok. Currently trying to jog along the road with Raja to all the nearby vincinity. Mostly I try to jog over to chinese garden. But the road doesn't feel the same as Bishan running track. It's really tire my leg somehow and I have to stop myself in btwn traffic lights. Well, I shall scout the area to find a nice place to really do my jogging.

I went down to SIM a few days back to sign up application for my part time degree programme. Well, I guess I can't be too choosy this time round. If I really can't get in NTU or NUS this will be my only choice. My goal is to study before I am getting way too old. So now I guess it really is the time now.
